Traditional Islamic non-religious pictures usually illustrate fairy tales, or garden and hunting scenes. Erotic art was also popular - it has received encouragement in wealthy courts and palaces. It was usually displayed in private quarters and baths, among hunting and other scenes.
We are happy to offer you such fine illustrations, popular in Islamic world. Some elements of these images may suggest Afghani or Pakistani origin (elements of dress, wide bracelets, etc.), while some other elemets show Mongolian influence... These fine miniature paintings (gouache technique) are made on pages of old Urdu books (about 70 - 80 y.o.). Ornamented with fine calligraphy in that old language, they can create wonderful accents in any interior. These are one-of-a-kind artistic paintings, available in single quantities. Collecting two or three of such paintings would create amazing sets. Enjoy! Our mosaic frames are excellent match for this art.

Hunting Scene
Rich colors with dominant browns and burgundies, navy blue border, and real precision of finishing. The gold of background is really dense. Interesting landscape, two tigers and legendary oryx add to the image atomssphere.
It is a real masterpiece! Decorated with calligraphy on the top and bottom. Would look great in navy blue matting, and a gold or mosaic frame.

Six Images
Showing multiple miniatures on a single page is very common in Islamic art. Pictures show , hunting for legendary Oryx, battle scene, singing and playing music, etc.

Mixed Scenes
Dark colors, dominated by browns, with green, blue and orange accents , and gold ornamentation, with thick blue-floral border. Really fine piece.

Mixed Scenes II
This is another fantastic, colorful painting we have from Syria. Large picture on an old book page shows 6 scenes; wild animals, coffee drinking, music playing, etc.. High quality of detail, blue border around the whole page, rich gold paint and calligraphy. This piece would look great in a burgundy or navy blue matting, and a patina gold frame of a larger size.

Six Images in Green
Another six-set, but a bit different. With dominant greens, it shows more unusual for such pictures animals; dogs, birds, sheep, even a bear. Painted by a different hand than other pictures, it has a really mood, showing most people here smiling. Really fine choice. Size 7x10".

Camp Scene
Large painting showing a hunter, swimming girl, people resting, fenced animals, merchants taking care of their camels, etc.
Nice image dominated by green with borders, and navy blue/gold border.

Similar to the left image, with dense greens and bronzes. A tent, resting people, feeding animals, etc.

Stream Scene
Small size, nicely painted image shows a resting couple and a hunter in lush greens surrounding a stream with water lilies, etc.
Nice navy blue/gold border.
